Peseiro: I am loyal to Super Eagles, not interested in Zamalek job

Nigeria head coach Jose Peseiro has dismissed reports that he has applied to coach Egyptian club Zamalek SC.

The 63-year-old was reported to have sent his CV to Zamalek management for the vacant coaching position.

Peseiro, however, said his focus is on the Super Eagles job.

“At the present, all my focus is on the Nigerian national team only,” the Portuguese told btolat.com.

“There are no talks from Zamalek in any case, and I am not thinking about anything else.”

Peseiro signed a contract extension with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

He is under pressure following the Super Eagles poor start to the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.

There have been constant calls for his sack after the Super Eagles could only draw their opening two games against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
