Penawou commends Isoko South boss for outstanding achievements

Delta State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Kelly Penawou, has commended the exemplary accomplishments of Comrade Friday Ovoke Warri, Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area, achieved within just four months in office.

Speaking during a one-day visit to the council headquarters in Oleh, Penawou expressed his satisfaction and enthusiasm, describing Isoko South as a model of commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy. "In my visits to several local governments, I have observed a leader striving diligently to serve his people and leave a lasting legacy. Chairman Ovoke has performed remarkably well, and I encourage everyone to support him wholeheartedly," Penawou stated.

Representing the state governor, Penawou highlighted the importance of aligning the chairman’s efforts with the state government's M.O.R.E. agenda program. He appealed to the residents of Isoko South to rally behind the chairman, avoid distractions, and encourage his visionary plans for the local government.

During the visit, Chairman Friday Ovoke Warri expressed gratitude to the commissioner and his team from Asaba, the state capital. He reiterated his administration's unwavering dedication to the comprehensive development of Isoko South, in line with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori's M.O.R.E. agenda.

The chairman acknowledged the challenges encountered since assuming office but emphasized the progress achieved. "Despite some initial fluctuations, we have made steady advancements. From stabilizing administrative operations to completing various projects, our focus remains on improving the well-being of Isoko South residents," he said.

The commissioner and his team inspected numerous projects initiated in the past four months, including:

The upgrade of a 15KVA solar power system, Renovation of the HPM quarters, Construction of a modern council gatehouse,
Rehabilitation of the chairman's quarters, Repair of Ogbemudia road and drainage, Rehabilitation of critical sections of Idheze road to the Isoko North boundary via Ozoro-Idheze road.

Present at the inspection were Isoko South Vice Chairman Theresa Ikrike, SLG Zino Osuofa, HPM Mrs. Mary Iroro Ofogbor, Majority Leader Ms. Eloho, supervisory councillors, and other key stakeholders.

This visit further underscored the administration's commitment to transformative leadership and service delivery for the people of Isoko South.
