OYSHIA begins community-based insurance scheme

The Oyo State Health Insurance Agency (OYSHIA) has started
Community Based Health Insurance Scheme (CBHIS) in three communities.

The Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr Olusola Akande, disclosed this in a statement made available
in Ibadan on Wednesday.

He stated that the official activation of the scheme, and enrollment of Gov. Seyi Makinde Adoptees into
the health insurance was held at the Community Town Hall, Sepeteri, Saki East Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, the scheme is part of effort to ensure that every resident has access to quality healthcare services.

Akande said that the essence of community-based health insurance and enrollment of the the governor’s adoptees
into the scheme is a step toward achieving Universal Health Coverage.
