Opu Nembe Indigenes Demand Investigation into Alleged Oil Bunkering and Human Rights Violations

Concerned indigenes of Opu Nembe Kingdom in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State have taken the initiative to petition the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu.

The purpose of this petition is to call for an investigation into the alleged illegal oil bunkering, pipeline vandalization, violence, and violation of the fundamental human rights of the Opu Nembe community.

The concerned indigenes have raised serious allegations against the perpetrators of these activities.

They claim that there have been instances of illegal oil bunkering and pipeline vandalization, which have not only caused significant harm to the environment but also disrupted the local economy.

Furthermore, there have been reports of violence and the violation of the fundamental human rights of the indigenes, which has created an atmosphere of fear and insecurity in the community.

In light of these allegations, the Opu Nembe indigenes are urging the National Security Adviser to take immediate action and conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.

They believe that a comprehensive investigation will not only help to bring the perpetrators to justice but also ensure that the rights of the indigenes are protected and that peace and security are restored in the community.

It is now up to the National Security Adviser to respond to the petition and take appropriate action.

The outcome of this investigation could have far-reaching consequences for the Opu Nembe community and the local government area as a whole.
