Political leaders, officials, and appointees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State are urged to regularly demonstrate small acts of kindness to party members across the region.
Council Chairman, Hon. Godwin Ogorugba, stated this during a meeting of Isoko North PDP stakeholders on Friday at the party secretariat in Ozoro, emphasized the importance of kindness in building a stronger, more resilient party. He noted that, as political leaders and officials, they are privileged to hold positions of influence and should use their authority to foster unity and support among members.
Ogorugba, who previously served as the PDP chairman for Isoko North, advised leaders to resist baseless rumors and verify any information before acting on it. He warned against individuals who spread false information for personal gain, emphasizing that such actions could weaken the party's unity and goals.
He urged PDP members to prioritize goodwill and inclusivity: "There are many party members in need of support, and by extending a helping hand, we can make everyone feel valued and involved. This creates a supportive environment for our governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, as he seeks re-election in 2027."
To combat rumors and misinformation, Ogorugba advised party leaders to verify claims directly with the individuals involved. He believes this approach will significantly reduce the influence of rumor-mongers.
The chairman also assured that he would ensure all councilors and political appointees pay their party dues consistently, enabling smoother party operations in the local government area. He also promised to hold regular meetings for the Isoko North PDP Elder's Council as necessary.
Several other party leaders voiced their support for Ogorugba and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration. The gathering included Jonathan Ukodhiko, the Isoko federal constituency representative; Bernard Odior, Isoko North State Assembly member; Joseph Onojaeme, Commissioner for Health; Emmanuel Egbabor, PDP State Organizing Secretary; and others.
Daniel Tutumor, SSA to the governor, proposed a motion of confidence in Governor Oborevwori, which was seconded by Pascal Emeluaha, leader of the Isoko North legislative arm, and unanimously endorsed by the stakeholders.
The meeting also saw the attendance of key PDP figures and local government leaders, such as Emmanuel Okoro, Ovie Oghoore, and Kome Ozue, underscoring a unified commitment to the party’s vision and leadership.
