In fulfillment of his campaign promises, the Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area, Godwin Ogorugba, has covered the enrollment fees for all primary six pupils in the council area for the 2025 academic year.

Ogorugba made this known on Wednesday in his office in Ozoro, shortly after a meeting with his management team and the Head of Department (HOD) for Education. He emphasized that the initiative aligns with his administration’s educational policy, “Brightening the Future Through Education,” which complements the MORE Agenda of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

“Considering the economic challenges many parents are facing, most of them are struggling to pay their children's enrollment fees. To ease this burden, my administration has taken full responsibility for the 2025 academic year, ensuring that all primary six pupils can sit for their final examination without financial hindrance,” Ogorugba stated.

The chairman also directed parents who have already paid the fees to approach their respective head teachers for a refund.

Commending Ogorugba’s efforts, former council vice chairman, Gabriel Alebe, and immediate past councillor for Ozoro Ward 2, Felix Adaimoni, lauded the chairman’s achievements since assuming office. They highlighted key projects, including:

Distribution of free notebooks and writing materials to 43 public primary schools; construction of 15 lockup shops and four toilets at Ofagbe community; renovation of 65 open stores at Otor-Owhe community market. Rehabilitation of Otor-Owhe–Owhelogbo and Otor-Iyede roads, tiling of council offices and construction of a modern administrative complex at the council secretariat, and the renovation of open stores at Aradhe community market.

They praised Ogorugba for his proactive leadership and commitment to improving the welfare of residents through education, infrastructure, and economic empowerment.
