Chairman of the Ewu-Okuama Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Management Committee, Mr. Abraham Ogbodo, has applauded the Chairman and CEO of the Ibru Organization, Olorogun Oskar Ibru, for donating a cow and cartons of fish to the Okuama IDP camp at Ewu-Urhobo.

Advocate.ng reports that following the destruction of the Okuama community by the Nigerian army, the displaced residents have been sheltered at an IDP camp set up by the Delta State Government at Ewu-Urhobo, Ughelli South Local Government Area of the state.

Ogbodo, while commending Olorogun Oskar Ibru's gesture, disclosed that Ibru and other generous individuals donate relief materials to the displaced people of Okuama, camped at Ewu-Urhobo, for the sake of humanity.

Ogbodo, a former editor of the Guardian Newspaper, stated this on Wednesday at the Okuama IDP Camp in Ewu-Urhobo.He said that he and his team are overwhelmed by the level of support from the Urhobo Nation regarding the plight of the Okuama people.

According to him, "I never expected this level of support from our Urhobo brothers and sisters for what we are doing at the Okuama IDP Camp at Ewu-Urhobo.

"Not long ago, Olorogun Engr. Matthew Edevbie came to donate items to the camp. Today, another illustrious Urhobo, Olorogun Oskar Ibru of the Michael Ibru dynasty, contacted me because we have an emergency as the Urhobo Nation. Without prompting, he sent #1m for us to get the camp the big cow you are seeing and 3 cartons of fish to alleviate the suffering of our people and to complement government efforts.

"He is currently not in the country to personally make this presentation. So, on behalf of Olorogun Oskar Ibru, I am donating this cow and 3 cartons of fish to our people in the Okuama IDP Camp."

Ogbodo, while calling on well-meaning Nigerians to emulate Ibru's gesture, said, "I am grateful to Olorogun Oskar Ibru for this tremendous support for what we are doing here, and we pray that God continues to keep us all healthy and protected."

The Camp Commandant, Comrade Austin Ohwofaria, who received the items on behalf of the Committee and the State Government, also commended Olorogun Oskar Ibru for the donation and prayed for God to continue to bless him and enlarge his coast.

He said, "On behalf of the Delta State Government and the Management Committee, we want to thank Olorogun Oskar Ibru for the donation. We also thank our Chairman, Mr. Ogbodo, for facilitating this donation. This makes it the 6th cow he has facilitated for the IDP Camp," he added.
