Oborevwori pioneers rural development through road infrastructure says Aniagwu

Delta State Commissioner for Works, (Rural and Riverine Roads), Mr. Charles Aniagwu, has said Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has prioritized the construction of roads in rural communities, in a bid to foster equitable development and opportunities for all residents of Delta State.

 

Aniagwu disclosed this during a recent inspection of the ongoing construction of the Nsukwa – Umute – Adonte Road in Aniocha South Local Government Area, he lauded the Governor’s commitment to extending meaningful development to every corner of the state.

 

“The entire stretch of the road is 7.5km, with Phase 1 covering approximately 3.2km,” stated Aniagwu. “This project is a testament to Governor Oborevwori’s vision of fostering communal interconnectivity and providing opportunities for all, especially those in rural communities.”

 

He emphasized that Governor Oborevwori’s agenda prioritizes inclusivity and economic empowerment for all residents, irrespective of their geographical location. “Despite the challenging terrain of this area, Governor Oborevwori remains steadfast in his determination to uplift rural communities and ensure their integral role in the state’s economy.”

 

Aniagwu commended the contractor and engineers for their diligent supervision of the project, noting the significant progress achieved since its commencement in November 2023. He highlighted the contractor’s commitment to quality workmanship and adherence to road design specifications, attributing the success to the encouragement and support provided to indigenous contractors.

 

“We are pleased with the progress made so far and remain optimistic that the project will be completed within the stipulated timeframe,” affirmed Aniagwu. “Governor Oborevwori is keen on ensuring timely completion of infrastructure projects to enhance the well-being of our communities.”

 

The Commissioner for Works reiterated the state government’s commitment to empowering indigenous contractors and fostering healthy competition within the construction industry. He expressed confidence in the capabilities of local contractors to deliver projects of international standards, thereby contributing to the overall development of Delta State.

 

Aniagwu also emphasized the pivotal role of road infrastructure in driving socio-economic growth and urged continued support and collaboration from all stakeholders to realize Governor Oborevwori’s vision for a prosperous and inclusive Delta State.
