NYSC Praises Fintiri’s Approval of ₦10k Monthly Allowance for Adamawa Corps Members

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Adamawa has commended Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for introducing a ₦10,000 monthly allowance for corps members serving in the state.

The initiative, aimed at improving the welfare of the corps members, was praised by the NYSC management during the opening ceremony of the 2024 batch A, stream 2, orientation course.

Malam Mohammed Lawal, the State NYSC Coordinator, expressed gratitude to Governor Fintiri for his support of the NYSC scheme and the introduction of the ₦10,000 monthly allowance.

He stated that the allowance would significantly impact the lives of the corps members, making their service year more comfortable and rewarding.

A total of 1,309 corps members were deployed to the state for the orientation course.

After three weeks of training, they will be posted out to different places of primary assignment across Adamawa.

The NYSC management urged employers to accept and consider the corps members as partners in progress, acknowledging their contributions to the state’s development.

Governor Fintiri, represented by Deputy Governor Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, reiterated the administration’s continued support of the NYSC scheme and emphasized the importance of security for the corps members.

He advised the corps members to be conscious of their collective and individual security, as Adamawa is a peaceful state.

The Governor also encouraged the corps members to distinguish themselves in their various places of primary assignment, emphasizing the strategic partnership between the NYSC and the state government in implementing people-oriented programs in education, healthcare, agriculture, and rural development.

During the ceremony, the oath of allegiance was administered to the corps members by the state Chief Judge, Justice Hafsat Abdurrahaman.

The oath-taking symbolizes the commitment of the corps members to serve their country and contribute to the development of Adamawa.

The introduction of the ₦10,000 monthly allowance by Governor Fintiri is a significant step towards improving the welfare of the corps members in Adamawa.

It reflects the state government’s commitment to supporting the NYSC and ensuring that the corps members are well taken care of during their service year.
