NSCDC Rescues Woman Who Jumped Into Osun River

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) successfully rescued a woman who had jumped into the Osun River in an apparent suicide attempt.

The incident occurred on January 3, 2024, when the woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, was seen plunging into the river.

The Search and Rescue Team of the NSCDC was quick to respond to the distress call, arriving at the scene within 10 minutes of receiving the call.

They were able to pull the woman out of the river and provide her with the necessary medical attention.

According to the NSCDC spokesperson, the woman explained that she had been feeling a burning sensation in her body and believed that the only way to alleviate it was to jump into the river.

The state Commandant of the NSCDC commended the rescue team for their swift and professional response, which ultimately saved the woman’s life.

This incident highlights the importance of mental health awareness and the need for individuals to seek help when they are experiencing emotional distress.

The NSCDC has urged residents to take care of their mental health and has pledged to pay close attention to the rivers in the state to prevent further incidents of this nature.
