NSCDC Arrests Son for Killing Father in Kano

Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Kano State has apprehended a 25-year-old man, Alkasim Ya’u, for allegedly stabbing his father to death.

The incident occurred on January 5, 2024, at Tudun Yola ‘C’, in the Gwale Local Government Area of Kano.

According to the NSCDC, the suspect, who is said to be mentally ill due to his involvement in drug activities, attacked his father with a sharp object.

The deceased, Alhaji Ya’u Mohammed, had brought his son to the Psychiatric Hospital Dawanau for medical treatment.

Instead of returning to Katsina after the hospital visit, the father and son decided to stay at the residence of Salisu Bala, the deceased’s brother.

It was during their stay that the tragic altercation unfolded, resulting in the death of the father.

The NSCDC swiftly intervened, taking the injured father to the hospital and apprehending the suspect.

The deceased’s body is being transported to Katsina for burial, while the suspect and evidence are in the custody of the Rijiyar Zaki Divisional Police Office for further investigation.
