Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Nigerians on the nation's 64th Independence anniversary, calling for collective efforts to overcome the economic and security challenges facing the country.
In a statement issued in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori emphasized the need for unity among Nigerians, regardless of political, religious, or ethnic differences, as the key to navigating the country’s current difficulties.
The Governor conveyed his warm regards to President Bola Tinubu, fellow Deltans, and Nigerians nationwide, encouraging citizens to support government efforts aimed at addressing insecurity and the economic downturn.
"On behalf of the Government and people of Delta State, I extend my congratulations to all Nigerians on the occasion of our 64th Independence anniversary," the Governor said.
"Despite the challenges we face, including economic and security issues, Nigeria has remained resilient. It is crucial that we continue working together to build on the gains of our 25 years of uninterrupted democratic governance."
Governor Oborevwori paid tribute to the sacrifices of the nation's founding fathers and called on citizens to remain patient, have faith, and support leaders as they tackle the nation’s pressing challenges.
"As we mark this day, let us remember the sacrifices of our heroes past and look ahead with optimism. My administration is committed to advancing our M.O.R.E Agenda, which focuses on improving the lives of Deltans, and we remain steadfast in our efforts to deliver on that promise," he added.
