Senator representing Delta North, Senator Ned Nwoko, has expressed his firm commitment to the creation of Anioma State during a courtesy visit to the Asagba of Asaba, Obi Professor Epiphany Azinge, on Sunday.

The visit, occurring just a month after Obi Azinge’s coronation, centered on Senator Nwoko’s efforts in advancing the Anioma State agenda through his work at the National Assembly.

In his discussion with the Asagba, Senator Nwoko emphasized his confidence that Anioma State would soon become a reality, citing strong federal support and collaboration with key stakeholders.

"The creation of Anioma State remains a priority for me, a cause to which I am deeply committed,” he stated, highlighting how unity across Delta North strengthens the push for statehood.

Senator Nwoko also praised the Asagba’s leadership, noting his distinguished academic and administrative expertise, which he said positions him as an exceptional leader within Delta’s traditional institutions.

The Senator further discussed ongoing infrastructure projects critical to Anioma, including the Ogwashi Uku Dam and Okpai Power Plant, projects that he said would provide essential water resources, power, and economic opportunities to numerous communities across Anioma.

"Anioma state is important to me and would be actualized by concerted action. I am also committed to building lasting infrastructure while empowering the people.

" Ogwashi Uku dam and Okpai electricity projects remain dear to me. I have made substantial efforts to ensure the completion of the projects. The dam will get on steam to boost irrigation for agriculture and provide water to over 66 Anioma communities. I am concerned about the  Okpai Power plant, because the  benefits are  immeasurable to Anioma people. The Oko road linking several communities would be constructed among other vital initiatives"

In response, the Asagba lauded Senator Nwoko for his "strategic strides" in fostering Anioma’s development and representing Delta North in the National Assembly. He praised the Senator’s bipartisan approach and expressed his support for the proposed Federal University of Technology in Asaba, a project that aims to address educational needs while honoring Asaba’s historical significance.

The Asagba concluded by pledging the support of Asaba Kingdom, emphasizing pride in Senator Nwoko’s achievements and his unwavering dedication to advancing the Anioma identity and vision.
