Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo has chosen his 2027 running mate. The NDC's governorship candidate in Kano State picked Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso for the ticket.

Kwankwaso is the son of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. He recently quit his job as Commissioner for Youths and Sports under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The younger Kwankwaso left the administration after his father's split with the governor. He then rejoined his father's political camp.

A spokesperson for the Kwankwasiyya movement confirmed the news on Monday. Habibu Saleh Mohammed released a statement announcing the partnership.

"HE Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo unveiled Hon Mustapha Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as running mate for 2027 Governorship Election," Mohammed said in the brief statement.
