In a statement, the senator representing Kogi Central senatorial district urged the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, to intervene and restore peace in the affected communities.

The attacks, which occurred in the communities of Agojeju Odo and Abejukolo, were attributed to gunmen who were reportedly engaged in a conflict with Agatu militia in neighboring Benue State.

The violence extended to Agojeju Odo, Ajokpachi Odo, and Bagaji, resulting in the destruction of farm produce.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed her deep condolences to the families of the victims and stressed the need for a comprehensive investigation to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attacks.

The recent violence underscores the need for a strong and coordinated response from the authorities to address the underlying causes of conflict and ensure the safety and security of the people of Kogi State.
