Military Accused of Targeting Igbos in Disguise of Counter-Terrorism Operations

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have raised concerns over alleged attacks on Igbos by the Nigerian military.

The group claims that these attacks are being carried out under the guise of counter-terrorism operations against rogue elements in the region.

According to IPOB, the military has been conducting raids and operations in various parts of the southeast, particularly in Anambra and Imo states.

These operations have led to the destruction of property and the displacement of many innocent civilians.

IPOB alleges that these actions are part of a larger effort to suppress the aspirations of the Igbo people for self-determination.

The military, on the other hand, has denied these allegations, stating that their operations are aimed at neutralizing threats posed by criminal elements and terrorists in the region.

They have also emphasized that they are committed to protecting the rights and freedoms of all Nigerian citizens, regardless of their ethnic or regional affiliations.

These claims and counterclaims have generated heated debates and discussions among the public, with many expressing concern over the potential for increased tensions and conflict in the region.

It remains to be seen how these events will unfold and what impact they will have on the fragile peace in the southeast.
