The Movement for the Emancipation of Anioma Nation (MEAN) has expressed unwavering confidence in Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North in the National Assembly.
The declaration of support came during a rally organized by MEAN at the Alihama Town Hall in Agbor, the headquarters of Ika South Local Government Area in Delta State.
The motion to endorse Senator Nwoko was moved by Hon. Mike Monye, General Secretary of MEAN, and seconded by Apostle Ayo Ashiedu, the group’s president. It was unanimously endorsed by Anioma people present at the rally.
The event attracted a large crowd, including coordinators from all nine local government areas in Delta North, and served as a unifying platform for participants across the senatorial district.
Speaking at the rally, Apostle Ayo Ashiedu highlighted MEAN's mission to advocate for the betterment of Anioma people. He described Senator Nwoko as a beacon of hope for the Anioma region, stating:
“Our mission as a formidable organization is to advocate for a better life for our Anioma people. For that to be possible, we see Senator Ned Nwoko as the chosen one to make it happen. His actions in the Senate attest to this. We have seen his desire for the growth and development of Anioma land, and we have decided to stand by him."
Ashiedu lauded Senator Nwoko's contributions, emphasizing his exemplary representation in the National Assembly. He declared: “Ned Nwoko is our hero. An attack on Ned is an attack on MEAN.”

MEAN also reaffirmed its commitment to the longstanding demand for the creation of Anioma State. Ashiedu emphasized that Delta North has been marginalized in infrastructure development, necessitating the push for equity among the state’s three senatorial districts.
“We support Senator Nwoko in his advocacy for Anioma State. MEAN was established to be the voice of Anioma, championing human and capital development in the region," Ashiedu stated.
The rally also aimed to raise awareness among Anioma people about the need to back Senator Nwoko and his political aspirations.
Coordinators from all nine local governments pledged their full support for Senator Nwoko, committing to mobilize grassroots efforts in their respective areas. Participants at the rally praised Senator Nwoko’s dedication to Anioma's progress and offered prayers for his continued success and protection.
The event was marked by vibrant displays of Anioma cultural attire and music, reflecting the region’s rich heritage.
Apostle Ashiedu, the founder and national president of MEAN, thanked attendees for their presence and support, expressing gratitude for their shared commitment to Anioma’s advancement.
“Your presence here today demonstrates our collective resolve to support Senator Nwoko in his struggle for the good of Anioma people," Ashiedu said.
The rally underscored MEAN's determination to foster unity and development in the Anioma region while championing Senator Nwoko as a central figure in their aspirations.
