At the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) in Ogbomoso, a student was killed and two others were injured after an alleged accidental discharge from a yet-to-be-identified security agent.
The incident occurred on Tuesday as the security agent attempted to settle a dispute between two individuals within the school premises.
According to an eyewitness, the security agent fired shots into the air while trying to resolve the conflict.
It was during this action that the bullet hit the student, who later died, and injured two others.

The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Adewale Osifeso, has confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is underway.
