Katsina Governor’s Wife Secures Foreign Scholarships for 50 Indigenes

The Wife of Katsina State Governor, Hajiya Zulaihat Radda, has announced the securing of foreign scholarships for 50 qualified students of the state.

The announcement was made on Monday during the final of the state’s Inter-Schools Science Practical Quiz, Debate Competition, and Presentation of Awards.

The initiative, which is in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda, a pet project of the First Lady, Sen. Remi Tinubu, aims to provide opportunities for students to pursue higher education in foreign institutions.

In addition to the foreign scholarships, 500 forms were also distributed to Katsina indigenes for the award of scholarships to study in higher institutions of learning in Nigeria.

The Governor’s Wife has personally sponsored an indigene of the state currently studying in Belarus, and the state government has also provided scholarships to 41 students to study medicine in Egypt and law graduates to study in the law school.

The event, which was organized by an NGO, Ash-shifa Social Development, Education, and Health Awareness Initiative, is an avenue to promote academic excellence, foster innovation, collaboration, and nurture the next generation of leaders.

The Governor’s Wife commended the NGO for their efforts in organizing the competition, stating that it is crucial for the development of the state and the nation.

By engaging students in science practical quizzes and debates, the initiative empowers them to explore their curiosity, think critically, and develop practical skills that are essential for success in the modern world.

As the state government continues to support and invest in these initiatives, it is necessary to reaffirm our commitment to building a brighter future for the state and the nation.
