The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has decided to waive the registration fee for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for persons with disability.

This decision has been made to support and encourage equal opportunities for all candidates in the pursuit of higher education.

This move by JAMB is a significant step towards creating a level playing field for all candidates, and it is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of many individuals with disabilities.

In addition to the fee waiver, JAMB has also decided to provide audio books for all blind candidates, which will be in popular audio formats such as MP3, WMV, and WMA.

The 2024 UTME is scheduled to begin on April 19, 2024, and the registration process will commence on January 15, 2024.

Candidates who do not wish to sit for the mock examination will be required to pay a fee of N6,200, while those who wish to take the mock examination will be required to pay N7,700.

This news has been met with excitement and appreciation from various quarters, as it is seen as a positive step towards promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities in the education sector.
