JAMB Allows Pencil Use in 2024 Mock-UTME

JAMB has announced that it will allow the use of ordinary HP pencils during the 2024 Mock-UTME on March 7.

This decision comes after a series of inquiries from candidates and the general public regarding the use of pencils as a writing material in the examination hall.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) clarified that, while pencils and other banned materials have been prohibited in the past, they have now allowed their use for numerical analysis during the upcoming Mock-UTME and main examination scheduled to start on April 19, 2024.

Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s spokesperson, emphasized that the Board had previously banned the use of pencils and other materials due to their potential for misuse.

However, candidates are now permitted to bring one ordinary HP pencil to their respective examination centers as specified.

In another development, the Kogi State Government has cleared the JAMB fee for over 15,000 students, providing them with the opportunity to take the UTME without financial burden.

Meanwhile, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) protested in Abuja, demanding their inclusion in intervention committees addressing the hardships faced by many in the country.

It is important for candidates to adhere to the guidelines provided by JAMB and ensure they do not bring any other prohibited items to the examination center.

By following these guidelines, candidates can focus on the task at hand and perform their best in the upcoming Mock-UTME and main examination.
