Iran's state media said on Thursday that a projectile struck a military facility near Bushehr following fresh tensions between Tehran and Washington. Deputy governor Ehsan Jahanian told state news agency IRNA that the installation came under attack from what he called an "American-Zionist" weapon.
A US defence official denied the claims, telling reporters the American military wasn't conducting any strikes against Iran at the time. The conflicting accounts surfaced amid escalating hostilities between the two nations.
