IGP Distributes N69 Million to Families of Deceased Officers and Others in Ebonyi

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has distributed a sum of N69 million to 41 beneficiaries in Ebonyi State.

The beneficiaries, including next-of-kin to deceased police officers and injured personnel, received the compensation on Friday in Abakaliki.

The Commissioner of Police, Augustina Ogbodo, made the presentation on behalf of the IGP, Kayode Egbetokun.

The funds were provided as part of the Group Life Assurance, Group Personal Accident, and the IGP Family Welfare Insurance Scheme.

During the presentation, Ogbodo extended condolences to the families of the deceased officers and urged the injured police officers to continue their work with dedication, stating that the IGP is committed to the welfare of the police force.

She also advised the beneficiaries to use the money judiciously, especially for their children’s education.

Augustine Etim, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police and assured him that the funds would be used for the betterment of their families.

The distribution of this compensation underscores the importance of providing support to the families of deceased officers and injured personnel.

It is a step towards ensuring that the sacrifices made by these individuals in the line of duty are recognized and honoured.
