Hoodlums Kill Imam, Okada Rider In Fresh Plateau Attacks

The peaceful village of Ndun in Plateau State was struck by a brutal attack that resulted in the tragic loss of two innocent lives. The Chief Imam of the local Jumma’at Mosque, Malam Muhammad Sani Idris, and a local Okada rider, Muhammad Gambo, were both killed in a senseless act of violence.

The attack occurred on January 3, 2024, when the two victims arrived in the village to collect their belongings after a series of previous attacks that had left many homes in the area destroyed. The assailants, who are still at large, ambushed the unsuspecting men and left a trail of devastation in their wake.

This incident comes in the wake of a series of attacks on over 20 villages in Bokkos LGA, which claimed the lives of more than 150 people. The North-Central state has become an epic center for insurgency, leaving many residents displaced and in fear for their lives.

The Plateau State Government has yet to release an official statement on the incident, but local authorities have reported the attack to the Police and Operation Safe Haven in Bokkos. The Gan Allah Fulani Development Association (GAFDAN) has also condemned the attack and called for swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The loss of the Chief Imam and the Okada rider has left a deep void in the hearts of the villagers, who are now mourning the loss of two men who were pillars of their community. As the search for the attackers continues, the people of Ndun village are left to pick up the pieces and try to rebuild their lives in the face of such tragedy.
