A leading anti-drug abuse Non-governmental Organisation, the Hauz of Elnathan Initiative (HoEl), a youth led in conjunction with the Nigeria Face of Hope Ambassadors, Eze T. Isaac and Rejoice Onyemaechi, has solicited for the collaboration and support of His Royal Majesty Orhue1, Major Gen. Felix Mujakeruo RTD, CFR, MNI, Orodje of Okpe Kingdom in its campaign to ensure the eradication of drug and substance abuse among youths and teenagers in Delta State, and Nigeria at large.

The team which was led by the Project Administrator of the NGO, Mr. Peter Enaruke, explained that the time has come for true patriots to rise to the occasion of discouraging our youths from the intake of harmful substances that have all the likelihood of ruining their lives and future. The Initiative which has been known for its relentless campaigns against the use of hard drugs, had a warm discussion with the monarch to brief him of their plans to rid Delta and Nigeria at large of these illicit behaviors of its teeming youths.

Mr. Enaruke said, “Your Highness, I know you must have heard of us and the Ambassadors about our campaigns,  We are a team,  inspiring Hope and enhancing the campaigns against drugs and substance abuse among teenagers and youths in Nigeria. Although our constituency is the entire country, paucity of resources has however limited our operation to South-South region”.

“Our goal is simple. Our message is clear. We are moving from school to school, community to community telling  our youths and teenagers that nobody becomes the President of a country by been a drug addict. We are telling them that drug addiction can only ruin their lives. It adds absolutely no value to their existence. I am glad we have succeeded in changing the orientation of many. Every single soul we have saved is important to the society. We will not relent till the very last moment”, he added.

In his response, the monarch who profusely thanked the Group for the initiative however encouraged them never to relent in their fight against the use of harmful substances by our youths. He urged the group to properly survey the area so as to ensure that some schools and communities are not left behind.
