Armed gunmen stormed Ijalu in Egbe on Wednesday evening. They kidnapped a mother and her young child during the assault.
Mrs Idowu Kemi Titilayo and her toddler were taken away by the attackers. The incident happened around the Solid Rock School area of the community.
Residents said the criminals arrived at dusk, firing guns repeatedly. Many people ran away in panic and fear.
The Kogi State Police Command hasn't issued any statement yet. Sources close to the command couldn't immediately confirm details of the abduction.
This marks another kidnapping in the North-Central region. Security concerns continue mounting across several communities in the zone.
