Gombe State Governor Supports North Eastern University’s Academic Excellence

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has pledged his administration’s support for the North Eastern University (formerly known as Pen Resource University) in its pursuit of academic excellence.

The Governor, represented by his Deputy, Manassah Daniel Jatau, commended the university’s management for their efforts in complementing the state’s educational development during a recent visit to the institution.

Governor Yahaya acknowledged the state-of-the-art facilities at the North Eastern University and emphasized the importance of education in the socio-economic development of the state.

He expressed his administration’s commitment to providing quality education and supporting the university’s growth, particularly in the area of herbal medicine research.

“Education is a key area of concentration for our administration, and we will stop at nothing to ensure that our people have access to quality education for sustainable development,” Governor Yahaya stated.

He further highlighted the importance of local medicinal research, given Gombe State’s abundant vegetation, which can be used to produce affordable drugs for the people.

The founder of the North Eastern University, Dr. Sani Jauro, and the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Yusuph Amuda Yahaya, expressed their gratitude for the governor’s visit and his administration’s support.

They shared the university’s vision to become the leading educational institution in Nigeria within the next decade, emphasizing their passion for education and development.

With over 800 students, more than 100 teaching staff, and 27 undergraduate programs across four faculties, the North Eastern University has already established a solid foundation for academic excellence.

The university’s facilities have been lauded for their high-quality standards, creating an ideal learning and teaching environment.

Governor Yahaya’s visit to the North Eastern University underscores his administration’s commitment to promoting academic excellence and fostering partnerships with educational institutions to drive sustainable development in Gombe State.
