Former Delta SSG, Macaulay commiserates with Prof. Ijomah’s family

A former Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG), Comrade Ovuozourie Macaulay has consoled the Ijomah family of Aboh kingdom in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of the state over the death of their patriarch.

Ijomah, a renowned professor of Political Sociology who died at the age of 83 years, was an activist, a nationalist, an educationist, and the first President of the University of Nigeria (UNN) Alumni Association as well as the first President of Students’ Union of UNN.

Macaulay who is the Director General of Warri/Uvwie and Environs Special Area Development Agency (WUEDA), described the late Ijomah as a distinguished scholar and researcher, an erudite orator, and a prolific writer.

Besides, he said that the patriarch of the Ijomah family was a notable nationalist, and one of those eminent political leaders who negotiated the creation of Delta and Edo States from the defunct Bendel state.

He stated that Ijomah undeniably accomplished his mission on earth, and that his impactful sojourn on earth would surely be remembered by generations to come.

The former SSG urged the bereaved family and the educational community to be consoled with the fact that Ijomah lived a fulfilled life, and prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
