A community leader in Ugolo District in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, Pa Lucky Imiruaye has raised alarm over the unbridled encroachment and illegal sales of the expanse of land belonging to the Imiruaye-Okpo family of Ugolo District and call for a halt on the encroachment.

Pa Imiruaye who spoke to newsmen on behalf of the family at Ohorhe I community in Uvwie LGA said that there have been series of encroachment and illegal sales of the family land by fraudsters and some collaborators from the family thereby dispossessing the true owners of the family land.

Pa Imiruaye who was flanked by Prince Bernard Imiruaye Utebu and Prince Samson Ojokpehe Imiruaye expressed disappointment over the attitude of some untamed members of the family who embarked on making money illegally by selling family land; stressing that those involved in this illegal trade should desist forthwith as the family has resolved to arrest and prosecute those involved in this illegal act.

He strongly warned those illegally selling the family land to desist and also warned the buyers to desist from buying land from those who purportedly claim to be the owner of the family land without consulting the elders and head of the family, adding that any person who buy land without consulting and without the approval of the head/elders of the family stand the risk of losing the land and his money.

Pa Imiruaye also warned PWAN Homes (Flourish City Ometan Ugolo) to vacate the land they allegedly acquired illegally as the family has taken possession of their land, adding that if PWAN refused to vacate the land within 30 days they (company) will be prosecuted.

“Any illegal buyer will be prosecuted and all illegal sellers will also be prosecuted. We are also warning anybody who engage in illegal selling of the family land will be arrested. Nobody should move any building material to any part of the specified land. We are also warning any company or cooperative to abstain from illegal acquisition of our family land that was not approved by the family” he added.
