Felix Anirah Foundation donates Books, Uniforms worth over N2m to indigent students in Sapele

The Felix Anirah Foundation has donated books, Uniforms and cash worth over N2 Million to 50 indigent students of Okpe Grammar School, Sapele, Delta State.

The donation of the items, which took place at the Okpe Grammar School witness the House of Assembly member personally handing out the uniforms and books to the students.

Addressing the beneficiaries, President of the Foundation, Hon Felix Uruemuesiri Anirah, Member Representing Sapele Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly said the Foundation was embarking on the gesture as usual to assist indigent students and further boost the educational development of Sapele.

Anirah, who said, he was touched by the students reception disclosed that his mission is to provide the students need while they focus on their studies.

“We will do this for Okpe Grammar School, Sapele Technical College, Okotie Eboh Grammar School, Saint Malachi, and the other secondary schools in Sapele.

“We are going to introduce a special scholarship for you, and it’s going to be the ten best students after the scholarship exams and it’s ten in the Junior classes and ten in the senior classes,” adding that he will give the emerging students the sum of N50,000 every year.

Speaking further, the High Chief said he was giving out N5, 000 each to beneficiaries of the uniform, to their Principal to take care of their immediate needs this year as well as pay for the NECO examination fees of the final year students.

While responding the Principal of Okpe Grammar School Sapele, Comrade Tony Uba who also doubles as the Director-General of Felix Anirah Foundation said the visit was a divine intervention, recalling how the uniforms donation was added to the Foundation yearly gift, Uba said Anirah saw three students not well dressed during the last School inter house sports competition, and after providing for ten of them, he promised he would look out for the indigent ones “and that is how we picked them,” calling on God’s protection on the House of Assembly member.

One of the beneficiaries, Ibobo favour who could not hold back her joy also thanked the Chief for the gesture praying on God’s guidance upon him.

Hon Mike Eboh, a community leader also praised Chief Felix Anirah saying the Foundation has done its parts, called on other politicians to emulate his good works.

Other dignitaries who witness the occasion include Mrs Margaret O. Basil Iwhiwhu, Director Post Primary Education Sapele zone, Dcn Joseph Eghwujovio, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Ekeleme Harrison, National President of Okpe Youth Council Worldwide, Chief Austin Atiti, SSA Youth Development, Godwin Apitikori, Okirigwre community leaders, Vice President Sapele Athletic Club kayode Sanni and others.

The Felix Anirah Foundation started in 2009 and has given out books and scholarships to more than 500 students at the primary, secondary and university level, and had also carried out treatment for eyes, diabetes, yellow fever and other ailments.
