FCTA uncovers illegal oil refining warehouse in Abuja

The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, and security agents have busted a secret oil refining depot in Mabushi, Abuja.

The head of the Development Control Department, FCTA, Mukhtar Galadima, revealed this after a raid on Thursday.

He said that some land meant for business use has been turned into a place where oil and diesel are being tampered with and sold to other parts of the town.

He said the administration will not spare any illegal activities in the capital city without government approval, especially taking back the titles.

“As we carried on with our city cleaning exercise in Mabushi near the Mobil petrol station on Ahmadu Way, we found an unlawful refining spot where oil and diesel are being corrupted; we have done what we should by handing over the items to NSCDC.

“From our observation, some land for commercial use has been used for unauthorised activities, and we think the owners know the risks.

“We will follow the law and advise the FCT Administration accordingly,” he said.
