Ex-Niger Delta Warlords Discuss Economic Crisis in Stakeholders Meeting

Former Niger Delta warlords convened a stakeholders meeting to address the current economic crisis, particularly in the Niger Delta region.

The meeting, held at the residence of Senior High Chief Bibopere Ajube in Agadagba-Obon, Arogbo, Ese-Odo Local Government Area (LGA) of Ondo State, focused on finding solutions to the economic hardship faced by the region’s inhabitants.

Speaking to the press after the closed-door meeting, Ebikabowei, also known as Gen. Boyloaf, shared that the primary agenda was to find ways to alleviate the economic difficulties faced by the people of the Niger Delta.

He criticized politicians for sabotaging the economy and emphasized that the country should not be suffering given its vast mineral resources.

The former militant urged the President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government to work on increasing the nation’s Gross Domestic Production (GDP) in all its exports.

He stated that the Niger Delta region, as a major oil-producing area, must ensure the country’s economy is fixed quickly to prevent it from spiraling out of control.

Gen. Boyloaf emphasized the importance of increasing oil output and production in the region, stating that the nation’s survival depends on it.

He called on the Federal Government to share resources with states so that they can take responsibility for the events in their respective regions.

The meeting of these ex-warlords highlights the urgency of addressing the economic crisis in the Niger Delta, as well as the importance of collaboration between the government and local stakeholders to find a sustainable solution.
