Evangelist Elizabeth Ovwile, 71, passes on in Delta

The family of Azu of Elume Main Town, Sapele Local Government Area, Delta State, has announced the passing of Evangelist Mrs. Elizabeth Azu Ovwile, aged 71.

In a statement released by the family, signed by Austin Azu, the deceased was described as a devoted Christian, a woman of deep faith and a strong pillar to her family and community. Until her passing, Evangelist Ovwile was an active member of God’s Grace Ministry, where she served faithfully through prayer, counsel and selfless service.

The family said she hailed from Elume Main Town in Sapele LGA and would be remembered for her unwavering commitment to God, humility, love for family and dedication to service.

She is survived by her children, including Mr. Austin Azu, Correspondent of News Central at Government House, Asaba; Honourable Samuel Azu, Leader of the Sapele Legislative Arm; Rev. God’s Time Azu of God’s Grace Ministry; Akpuvie Azu; Happy Azu Omofuju; Victor Azu; Vera Aghogi; and Justice Azu, as well as grandchildren.

According to the statement, the late Evangelist Elizabeth Azu Ovwile’s life “remains a testimony of grace and godliness,” even as she is deeply mourned by family, friends and members of the Christian community.

The family added that funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.

“May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace,” the statement concluded.
