Empowering Lives: POWA Trains and Empowers 75 Police Officers’ Wives in Anambra

In a heartwarming event held on February 17, 2024, the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA) in Anambra State, Nigeria, celebrated the inaugural/graduating ceremony for 75 wives of men and officers of the Nigeria Police.

This significant event marked a new chapter in the lives of these women, as they were empowered with valuable skills and resources to improve their lives and the lives of their families.

The event took place at the POWA Skill Acquisition Center in Ukpo, Dunukofia Local Government Area of the State.

The training provided by the association focused on various skills, including tailoring, hairdressing, catering, and soap making, among others.

The aim of the program was to equip these women with the necessary tools to become financially independent and self-sufficient, thus contributing to the overall well-being of their families and communities.

The association also provided support to widows whose husbands died in active service in the state command.
