Indigenes of Effurun-Otor kingdom in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, resident in Benin, the Edo State capital have said the Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa have achieved one of the greatest feat which has been a major problem to the kingdom just as they applauded the MD/CEO, Obakpor Engineering Company, Olorogun John Oguma, “the Udu of Olomu Kingdom” and also related to the Kingdom for his dogged efforts in ensuring the Effurun-Otor bridge is constructed.
Arising from a meeting held in Benin on Thursday, April 19, 2018, the indigenes in a statement made available to ADVOCATE ONLINE, appreciated Olorogun John Oguma, saying he has demonstrated the spirit of a leader and son. “We are proud of him, this is what a true leader and a true son of the soil should do”, he is bringing development to his home because east and west home is the best, the statement read.
The statement also adds that, Olorogun John Oguma not only disturbed the governor to include the bridge among projects to be embarked upon in 2018, he has also been funding the project with his personal cash to ensure no excuse is given on the part of the government. He has done noble and it is a development which must be appreciated and celebrated publicly.
They maintained that when completed, the Effurun-Otor bridge will opened up the kingdom to other parts of the state and boost commercial activities and as well uplift the wellbeing of the people.
The Ugbowo group Secretary, Mr. Nelson Moses Utuedoye, a Lab scientist, thanked Governor Okowa for approving the construction of the bridge, and prayed God to continue to empower him to continue his good work in the state.
They however appealed for the speedy completion of the project before the heavy rains come.
