EFCC Denies Claims of KWASU Hostel Raid

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has recently refuted claims suggesting that it invaded the Kwara State University (KWASU) hostels on Thursday, February 22, 2024.

The anti-graft agency clarified in a statement that no joint operation was conducted with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and that the news was false.

According to the EFCC, its operatives only conducted a professionally planned operation in the school on the previous day, which resulted in the arrest of 48 students.

The operation was executed without any problems, and no other agency was involved.

The EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, emphasized that the public should be wary of fabricated stories designed to mislead the public about the works of the Commission or incite the people against it.

He further stated that the EFCC remains focused, un-fazed by blackmail, and totally committed to its mandate of tackling all forms of economic and financial crimes in Nigeria.

The EFCC has denied claims suggesting it raided the KWASU hostels and clarified that the news was false.

The anti-graft agency remains committed to its mandate and urges the public to be wary of misleading information.
