EFCC Arrests 48 Kwara Students: Cybercrime Crackdown on Campus

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken decisive action against cybercrime in Kwara State.

On February 23, 2024, the Ilorin Zonal Command of the EFCC arrested 48 students of the Kwara State University (KWASU) and two residents of Malete for alleged involvement in Internet fraud.

According to a statement by the EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the arrests were made following a credible intelligence report on the rising trend of cybercrime on campuses in the state.

The suspects were apprehended after days of surveillance and are now in custody.
