Delta State Contributory Health Commission (DSCHC) have been called on Field, Enrollment, and Liaison Agents to perform their duties with diligence and focus in line with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori's MORE agenda.

This call was made by Dr. Isaac Akpoveta, Director General and CEO of the DSCHC, during a two-day capacity-building workshop on business and marketing strategies held at the Commission's conference hall in Asaba.

Addressing 350 participants from all 25 local government areas of the state, Dr. Akpoveta emphasized that the provision of decent, affordable, and accessible healthcare for all Deltans is a priority for the current administration. He encouraged the agents to apply the knowledge gained during the workshop to enhance the Commission’s initiatives, particularly the Indigent Enrollee Adoption Initiative and the Artisan Inducement Initiative.

Dr. Austin Obidi, Chairman of the Commission, highlighted the crucial role of agents in advancing the MORE agenda. He noted that the workshop was designed to build the agents' capacity to effectively carry out their responsibilities and help the Commission meet its goals of improving healthcare access across Delta State.

Key sessions of the workshop included presentations by Dr. SOS Nwachukwu, the Commission’s Management Consultant, and Mr. Emmanuel Akpofure, Director of ICT. They informed participants that their performance would be evaluated using a target-driven system, urging them to utilize the strategies learned to meet the Commission’s objectives.

One of the highlights of the event was a lecture on "Work Culture" delivered by Mr. Charles Ojakovo of Kingsclass Consulting Services. He stressed the importance of aligning with workplace culture, encouraging agents to improve communication skills, uphold integrity, be team players, and embrace innovative solutions to succeed in their roles.

Additionally, agents were trained in "Basic Marketing and Sales Strategies," with a focus on effective client targeting and sales techniques. These skills are expected to significantly enhance their job performance and their ability to enroll more people in the Commission's healthcare programs.

The workshop also featured interactive question-and-answer sessions and written assessments to gauge participants' understanding of the training materials. At the conclusion of the event, certificates of participation were awarded to all attendees.

This initiative is part of the Delta State Government’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery through the strategic alignment of its agents with the MORE agenda, ensuring that healthcare becomes accessible to every Deltan, especially the most vulnerable.
