The Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF) has assembled a distinguished panel of experts from journalism, peacebuilding, and academia for its 2024 Annual Lecture Series, themed "Security Challenges: Finding a Local Implementable Solution." The event aims to deliver actionable strategies to tackle the region's unique security concerns.
Among the discussants is veteran journalist and public relations strategist Mr. Odita Sunday-Udemaguna, known for his expertise in defence and national security reporting. With over two decades of experience and a commitment to community leadership, Odita will provide practical solutions to Delta’s pressing security issues.
Ambassador (Pastor) Edewor Egedegbe, a good governance advocate and peacebuilder, will bring his insights into grassroots conflict prevention and ethical leadership. As the Founding Executive Director of the Value Rebirth and Empowerment Initiative, Egedegbe has a proven track record in fostering peace across the Niger Delta.
Adding her voice is Bridget Dominion Foh Affiah, South-South Coordinator for the West Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP). With 18 years of expertise in peacebuilding and economic strategies, Affiah’s success in resolving farmer-herder conflicts in Delta State will offer invaluable lessons for sustainable security solutions.
Academic perspectives will be presented by Professor Odikasieme Emmanus Nonyenze of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE), a Certified Protection Professional with innovative approaches to local safety and security management. Moderating the dialogue is Professor Kemi Emina, a scholar renowned for his work on public discourse, civil society, and democratic values.
The event will be chaired by Elder Emmanuel Ogidi, a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, while the keynote address will be delivered by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force. ACP Adejobi’s insights into security management and public relations will shape the day’s discussions.
