Diffre-Odiete presents a research grant to three BA Linguistics/Urhobo students

In his drive to promote study and academic research in Urhobo, an ex-student who bagged a Bachelor of Arts, BA Linguistics/Urhobo program in the Department of Languages and Linguistics, Delta State University, Abraka, Pst Akpobome Diffre-Odiete, today, Tuesday,  presented the sum of N60,000 to three final year students as a research grant to assists them in their fieldwork.

The former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of DELSU and ‘Mother of Urhobo Language studies’, Prof (Mrs) Rose Aziza presented the cash support on behalf of Diffre-Odiete to the beneficiaries and charged them to reciprocate the gesture by assisting others in the future.

The sum according to Diffre-Odiete should be used by the students for the typing of the projects and other secretariat expenses.

The all-female-beneficiaries, Faith Enyowhara, Ufuoma Okere, and Precious Efenure got N20,000 each.

The student expressed joy for the assistant, noting that gestures like this will encourage them to put in their best and ensure that the learning and teaching of the Urhobo is sustained.
