DESOPADEC Chairman, John Nani plays host to Okpe Kingdom Spiritual Leaders

The Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, Olorogun Hon. Barr. John Obukowho Nani over the weekend, received on courtesy visit the Spiritual Leaders of Okpe Kingdom, His Royal Eminence, Archbishop Iboyi Godday at his Jesse residence in Ethiope West Local Govt Area of Delta State.

The spiritual leader who came in the warm company of his wife, Rev. Ovo Iboyi, led members of the Okpe Christian Assembly (OCA) to pay a thank you visit to the DESOPADEC Boss for the role he (Aghwemutuwevwi of Idjerhe Kingdom) played in the pre-election and during the gubernatorial election that resulted in the resounding victory of His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and the PDP in Ethiope West and other parts of Delta State. The visit was also to congratulate him on his recent appointment as the Chairman of the 5th Governing Board of DESOPADEC, following his admirably successful tenure on the 4th board as the Executive Director of Finance and Administration.

Archbishop Iboyi acknowledged the spirit of equity portrayed by the DESOPADEC helmsman when human political forces from within the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) and on the other side of the divide launched an opposition to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori candidacy, but God used the likes of Chief John Nani and others to support His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa to give Gov. Sheriff seamless victory at every stage of the election.

Despite being overjoyed by the visit, Olorogun Nani could not conceal his respect for Archbishop Iboyi, whom he regarded as the Most-High God’s true servant and one who have been chosen by God for spiritual resurgence, owing to the efficacy of his prophecies.

He thanked the archbishop and the Christian community in the state for the fervent prayers and support that earned the victory. He warmly conveyed his feelings saying, ‘we cannot thank the Christian community enough for the spiritual intervention that brought about the hard-won victory. Your prayers and supports were part of the grease that oiled this victory for our party and we won’t take it for granted.

Olorogun Nani further urged the church to continue to make intercession for Gov. Oborevwori so that the MORE Agenda, which is designed to promote meaningful development, a variety of opportunities for Deltans to excel in all spheres, the implementation of workable and viable reforms, and the security of people and property in our beloved state, will be successful implemented.

While thanking the team for the congratulatory visit, Barr. Nani promised to fully support and propagate all the programmes of Gov. Oborevwori in enthroning  better life for the people of the oil-bearing communities in the state. He made it clear that his appointment was a call for him to provide further service to the state.

During the visit, prayers were offered to God for protection, grace and wisdom to the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and his family to finish his 8- year of two-tenure strong, as well as for Hon. John Nani, his household and staff, the board of DESOPADEC and staff, Idjerhe monarch, the  Idjerhe kingdom and Delta state in general.

The Archbishop was accompanied on the visit by The Deputy President General of Okpe Christian Assembly, Archbishop Sunday Dieruenaba; Bishop Joseph Adah, Bishop Wiseman Daniel, General Secretary, OCA; Bishop A.B Samuel, Hon. Pastor Pat Adaka, Apostle Moses, Rev. Richard kings and other clergy members.
