Officers from Delta State Police Command's Anti-Cult Unit have arrested seven suspected cultists in Azagba-Ogwashi. The raid happened on June 14, 2026, following intelligence work.

Police recovered one double-barreled gun from the hideout. Two live cartridges and drugs were also seized during the operation.

Bright Edafe, the state's police spokesman, confirmed the arrests in Warri on Thursday. He said operatives acted on credible intelligence to conduct the raid.

Among those arrested are Obore Ndubrisi, 26, and Okafor Okene, 25. Others include Odinigie Sunday, 26; Okohur Destiny, 21; Felix Abraham, 25; Aputa Israel, 27; and Okolie Chinonso Peter, 24.

Beyond the firearm, police found quantities of Indian hemp and Tramadol. A walkie-talkie was also recovered from the suspects.

All seven remain in custody as investigations continue. Edafe noted that profiling of the suspects is ongoing.
