In an unprecedented show of unity, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta Central Senatorial District on Sunday formally adopted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as their sole candidates for the 2027 general elections.
The bold declaration was the climax of the Delta Central APC Mega Unity Meeting held in Ughelli, bringing together top political leaders and grassroots supporters across federal, state, and local levels. The motion for the dual endorsement was moved by Rt. Hon. Francis Waive (Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency) and seconded by former lawmaker Hon. Halims Agoda. It was unanimously adopted after a thunderous voice vote conducted by Senator Ede Dafinone.
In a powerful speech, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Chief Festus Keyamo, described Tinubu as the most competent economic manager Nigeria has seen, and hailed the strategic alliance between Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda as a game-changer for Delta State.
“This isn’t just a meeting—it’s a movement. Since 1999, Delta Central has never been this united. For the first time, Delta will deliver 100% for APC,” Keyamo declared, coining the moment as the "Ukodo Base" of unity and leadership.
The meeting passed a resounding vote of confidence in both Tinubu and Oborevwori, applauding their leadership, policies, and performance. Party stakeholders vowed to replicate the unity meetings across the district’s eight local governments, wards, and units to further consolidate support ahead of 2027.
Elder Omeni Sobotie, APC State Chairman, praised the grassroots enthusiasm and highlighted the importance of maintaining the party’s momentum, while Chief Paulinus Akpeki, Delta Central APC Chairman, hailed the Governor’s alignment with the APC as a political masterstroke that has redefined the state's trajectory.
“Today is a day of purpose. A day to reaffirm that we are one indivisible family with a shared vision,” Akpeki stated.
Notable APC stalwarts, including 2015 governorship candidate Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, Chief Stella Okotete of NEXIM Bank, Senator Ighoyota Amori, and Chief Jaro Egbo, echoed their commitment to unity and victory in 2027.
With full attendance from federal and state lawmakers, commissioners, LG chairmen, and party faithful, the Delta Central APC Unity Meeting marks a defining chapter in the state’s political evolution—where old lines blur, alliances strengthen, and the path to 2027 becomes clearer.
