...Says Delta APC not intimidated by the failed policies or empty gestures

The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has faulted Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s approval of N275 billion for various projects across the state, describing it as insufficient, unevenly allocated, and lacking transparency, adding that Delta APC is not intimidated by the failed policies or empty gestures. The party frowned at the governor’s inability to provide the breakdown of amount allocated to each project attached to the N275b, noting that such intentional omission by the government has thrown a dark spot on the processing.   In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, Esq., the party expressed dissatisfaction with the allocation, arguing that the sum is "infinitesimal in relation to the vast developmental challenges" facing the state. It emphasized that Delta deserves a "more robust and visionary approach" to infrastructure, healthcare, and education development.   The APC noted that many key local government areas were excluded from the funding, reinforcing "systemic imbalance" in the state’s development. "Instead of ensuring a fair and inclusive development plan that addresses the needs of all Delta communities, the state government has once again displayed a blatant disregard for equitable distribution," the statement read.   The party also raised concerns over the lack of a detailed breakdown of how the funds would be distributed. "How can the people of Delta trust that their interests are being prioritized when such important information is being withheld?" APC asked, calling on the government to provide a clear and comprehensive breakdown of the allocations.   “We are particularly concerned that the absence of detailed breakdowns on the amounts attached to each project raises serious questions about transparency, accountability, and fairness. How can the people of Delta trust that their interests are being prioritized when such important information is being withheld? The lack of specific details undermines public confidence and suggests that the approval may have been made with little consideration for the balanced growth of the state.   “We, therefore, call on the Delta State Government to immediately provide a clear and comprehensive breakdown of the funds allocated to each project and ensure that future allocations are done in a manner that is fair, transparent, and truly reflective of the needs of all Senatorial Districts. It is imperative that the government takes a more inclusive approach to development that addresses the needs of all citizens equally, without bias or favoritism.     “It is disheartening that this administration continues to treat the people of Delta with such disregard, offering piecemeal solutions when a comprehensive, long-term development plan is needed. This is a clear indication of the lackluster performance and leadership deficit within Governor Oborevwori’s government, and Delta APC is not intimidated by the failed policies or empty gestures of this administration. We are focused on offering a true alternative—one rooted in transparency, accountability, and sustainable development for all Deltans.     Accusing Governor Oborevwori’s administration of "failed policies and empty gestures," the APC reaffirmed its commitment to offering a true alternative based on transparency and sustainable development. It urged the government to "reconsider this paltry allocation" and implement a development plan that "addresses the real needs of our people rather than relying on inadequate measures."
