Delta APC Congratulates Oborevwori on Supreme Court Victory in Gubernatorial Election

The Delta State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accepted the judgment of the Supreme Court, which upheld the return of Francis Sheriff Oborevwori by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the governor of Delta State in the March 18, 2023 governorship election.

The APC also congratulated Oborevwori on his judicial victory, stating that they would continue to be a beacon of light and remain a responsible opposition party in the state.

In a show of exemplary leadership, the APC gubernatorial candidate, Ovie Omo-Agege, acknowledged the Supreme Court’s decision and extended his congratulations to Oborevwori.

The Supreme Court’s judgment was delivered on January 20, 2024, and it dismissed the appeals filed by the APC, SDP, and Labour Party against Oborevwori’s election.

The court held that the appellants failed to prove their case as required and that the election was conducted in substantial compliance with the Electoral Act.

With this development, Oborevwori’s position as the governor of Delta State has been further solidified, and the state can now move forward with a renewed sense of unity and purpose.

The Delta APC’s acceptance of the Supreme Court’s judgment and their congratulatory message to Oborevwori demonstrate the importance of cooperation and unity in the political sphere.
