Dafinone mourns the demise of former chairman, Sapele Okpe community, Chief Joseph Onomor

The Senator Representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ede Dafinone has commiserated with the Onomor family, Sapele Okpe Community and Okpe kingdom over the demise of Chief Joseph Omamuromu Onomor at the age of 78 years.

Late Chief Joseph Omamuromu Onomor until his death on Tuesday, (today), was the head of the Onomor family and former chairman of Sapele Okpe Community (SOC) from 2006 to 2009. A prominent chief from the Orhorho Ruling House and a member of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC).

Senator Dafinone, who is also the Chairman of Sapele Okpe Community Land Trust in a signed statement said; “It is with deep sadness that I learnt of the death of Chief Joseph Onomor, the head of the Onomor family and former chairman of Sapele Okpe Community.

“Chief Onomor, a notable chief from the Orhorho Ruling House was a pillar of strength, a bridge builder and advocate of peace within the Onomor family, guiding them with his remarkable leadership and immense knowledge. His contributions to the Sapele Okpe community were invaluable, and his dedication to the welfare of the people of Okpe Kingdom was unwavering.

“As the former chairman of Sapele Okpe Community from 2006 to 2009, Chief Onomor played a pivotal role in advancing the socio-economic development of our community. His visionary leadership and strategic initiatives brought about positive change and progress to the community, leaving a lasting impact that will be remembered for years to come.

“Beyond his role in SOC, Chief Onomor was a respected member of the Sapele Okpe community. He actively participated in various community initiatives, including serving as a member of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC). His commitment to promoting peace, security, and harmonious coexistence was commendable.

“The passing of Chief Joseph Omamuromu Onomor is a great loss not only to his family but also to the entire Sapele Okpe community and the Okpe kingdom. He left behind a legacy of peace and service. His absence will be deeply felt, but his memory will continue to inspire and guide us.

“At a time like this, let us be consoled with the fact the Chief Onomor lived well. Let us honour his memory by coming together as a community to support one another and celebrate the life and contributions of this remarkable leader.
“May the soul of Chief Joseph Onomor rest in eternal peace.”

Senator Ede Dafinone also prayed to God to grant the Onomor family and Sapele Okpe Community the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
