Cross River Rerun Elections: APC and PDP Claim Victory in Tight Races

The Cross River State re-run elections held on February 3, 2024, have concluded with both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) securing victories in the contested seats.

The APC candidate, Emil Inyang, garnered a total of 15, votes, narrowly defeating the People’s Democratic Party’s candidate, who received 12, votes. The election was hard-fought, with both parties vying for control of the constituency.

Obanliku State Constituency: PDP’s Triumph
The People’s Democratic Party managed to secure a win in the Obanliku State Constituency.

The PDP candidate, Ashakia Pius, received a total of 13, votes, while the APC candidate, who had been the incumbent, received 11, votes. This result marks a shift in the political landscape of the constituency, with the PDP now taking control.
