COVID-19: Bermys Foundation distributes palliatives to the vulnerable

As parts of measure to cushion the effects of ravaging Coronavirus pandemic,  Bermys Foundation under the leadership of Chief (Mrs) Mercy Eguriase Sule weekend distributed palliatives to the people of Okpara – Inland, Okunoh – Okpara, Isokolo, Orhoakpor, Agborhoro – Okpara, Igun, Samagidi and Okpara Waterside, all in Ethiope East local government area of Delta State.

The distribution, which started at about 11 am on Thursday, 30th July 2020, targeted mostly the elderly, both widows and widowers of the various communities and wards in the local government area.

Mrs Sule who was a former Ethiope East House of Assembly Aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the last 2019 general election noted that the distribution of the palliatives was to ameliorate the sufferings of her people which was caused by the Corona-virus pandemic.

Speaking during the event, Mrs Mercy’s Spokesperson, Hon. (Chief) Efadafe MacPherson Abdulrahman noted that her madam is committed to community service and also fraternising with her people through various philanthropic activities.

He emphasized the need for other sons and daughters of the local government area who are financially buoyant to follow suit by helping out in any way they can as the true sons and daughters of the local government.

His words,” Let me use this opportunity to thank the woman, Mrs Mercy Sule Aguriase, who has shown capacity, love and care to the elders and mothers of our local government for this thoughtful and wonderful help to our people. ”

Reacting to the distribution, one of the beneficiaries, Mrs Omotorhe Mary Oghuvwe, thanked Chief Mrs Mercy Eguriase Sule and also those in the trenches of making the awesome event possible, she particularly thanked and described Mrs Mercy as a woman of substance, capacity and kind-heartedness for this thoughtful event.

Her words, “I thank our daughter for finding us worthy to be remembered in these difficult times of the pandemic. I pray God to continue to protect her and elevate her as she remembers us as her parents who needed help in this period of the pandemic. May God through his infinite mercies grant her good health, long life and prosperity in all areas of life.”

Also, Mrs Ovien Uboko who spoke to our reporters after the event appreciated the woman for all the help she has been unleashing on our people. She equally noted that as a beneficiary of this kind gesture, she is overwhelmed with her just as she prayed to God to continue to sustain her and replenish her pocket.
