Christopher Okun Takes Over as Akwa Ibom NYSC State Coordinator

Christopher Okun has assumed duty as the 19th State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Akwa Ibom State.

The announcement came in a statement issued by the NYSC Public Relations Officer in Akwa Ibom, Udogwu Madukaku, on Saturday.

Okun, who was transferred from the NYSC Area Office in Asaba, Delta State, took over from Chinyere Ekwe, who has been redeployed to the NYSC Area Office in Minna, Niger State, after the expiration of her tenure.

Madukaku highlighted that Okun is a graduate of the former Bendel State University, now known as Ambrose Ali University in Ekpoma, Edo State, where he graduated with a B.A (Hons) History in 1987.

As the new State Coordinator, Okun is expected to bring his rich expertise to the position and move the activities of the NYSC in the state to the next level.

He is described as an astute administrator and a product of the former Bendel State University.

In her handover note, Ekwe welcomed Okun to the state and assured him that he was in good hands as the staff of the NYSC in Akwa Ibom have served the organization diligently during her time.

The new state coordinator commended Ekwe for her display of good leadership qualities and her motherly disposition towards the corps members and wished her well in her new station.

With Okun’s appointment, the NYSC in Akwa Ibom State looks forward to benefiting from his leadership and experience as the organization continues to carry out its mandate of promoting national unity and development.
