Brentford score twice to beat Chelsea at their own ground

On Saturday, Brentford achieved a historic feat by defeating Chelsea 2-0 in the Premier League. It was their third win in a row at Stamford Bridge, a record for a visiting team. Brentford scored a goal in each half, courtesy of Ethan Pinnock and Bryan Mbeumo, while Chelsea failed to score despite having many chances.

Chelsea, who were missing some of their key players due to injuries and suspensions, had more possession and shots but could not find the finishing touch. Noni Madueke came close in the first half, but his shot hit the post.

Brentford, however, were more effective and ruthless in their attacks, taking advantage of Chelsea’s defensive weaknesses. They broke the deadlock in the 58th minute when Mbeumo sent a brilliant cross from the right, and Pinnock headed it in. Chelsea tried to equalise, but Brentford held their ground and defended well.

Brentford secured the win in injury time when Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez left his goal to join a corner, leaving it exposed. Brentford cleared the ball and started a fast break, with Neal Maupay setting up Mbeumo, who scored his second goal of the season, into an empty net.
